About Dubai & UAE platinum prices
Why buy platinum in Dubai
Platinum tracks the same global market price everywhere, so per gram it costs about the same as in India. Dubai's real advantage is tax and availability: no GST, VAT refundable for tourists and exempt on investment bars, thin premiums — and a genuinely wide choice of PT950 jewellery and PT999 bars, which is hard to find across much of India. For investment platinum, Dubai is usually cheaper all-in than India's GST-inclusive retail.
One rate across all seven emirates
UAE platinum is a single nationwide rate, so Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah all show the same per-gram price on any given day. A "Sharjah platinum rate" or "Abu Dhabi platinum rate" is the same number as Dubai — only shop making charges and offers vary.
PT950 vs PT999
Platinum jewellery in the UAE is usually PT950 (95% pure), while bars and coins are PT999. The per-gram rate quoted is for pure platinum; a PT950 piece is priced on its actual platinum content plus making. Investment bars are sold close to spot with a small premium and no VAT; jewellery adds making charges and 5% VAT.
