Gold Loan Calculator — Loan Amount & EMI

Live 22K rate · updated 27 Jul 2026
On today's 22K gold of ₹13,370/g, 40g is worth about ₹5,34,800 — a gold loan of up to ₹4,27,840 at 80% LTV, or roughly ₹37,813/month over 12 months at 11% p.a. Adjust the sliders below for your gold.

A gold loan isn't your gold's full value. Lenders value the gold content only (weight × purity at today's rate), then lend a capped share of it under the RBI loan-to-value (LTV) ceiling. Enter your gold below to see your eligible amount and monthly EMI.

How your eligible amount is set

The RBI caps how much of your gold's value a lender may give you. The cap is tiered by loan size — smaller loans can borrow a higher share:

Loan sizeMax LTVOn 40g of 22K (₹5,34,800)
Up to ₹2.5 lakh85%₹4,54,580
₹2.5L – ₹5L80%₹4,27,840
Above ₹5 lakh75%₹4,01,100

The calculator automatically applies the highest LTV your loan size qualifies for. Each lender sets its own LTV within this RBI ceiling — always confirm before pledging.

What the calculator assumes

Three things decide your number: the gold content (we use weight × purity at today's live rate, ignoring stones and making charges), the RBI LTV cap for your loan size, and your rate & tenure for the EMI. Branches may value gold on a recent average price and add a small processing fee, so treat this as a close estimate rather than a sanctioned figure. How much you can borrow depends on loan size

The smaller the loan, the higher the LTV the RBI allows.

Interest must be charged on a daily reducing balance, bullet-repayment loans are capped at 12 months, and a standardised Key Fact Statement (KFS) is mandatory before you sign.

Questions people ask

Lenders value only the gold content of your jewellery — weight × purity × today's rate — then apply the RBI LTV cap (85% up to ₹2.5L, 80% up to ₹5L, 75% above). Stones and making charges are excluded, so an ornate piece can be worth less than you'd expect.
This tool uses the standard reducing-balance EMI formula on the eligible amount, your annual rate and tenure in months. Many gold loans also allow interest-only or bullet repayment, where you service interest periodically and repay the principal at maturity — often cheaper if you can clear it quickly.
Today's live RatesToday rates — ₹13,370/g for 22K and ₹14,585/g for 24K. Banks may use a recent average rather than the live rate, so your branch figure can vary a little.
Most banks accept 18K–22K jewellery. Since eligibility is based on pure gold content, 18K (75% pure) gives a smaller loan than the same weight of 22K. Switch the purity toggle above to see the difference.
Estimate only. Actual loan amount, interest rate and fees are set by each lender after physically valuing and testing your gold, and may differ from this calculator. Gold rate shown is RatesToday's live indicative price. Last updated 27 Jul 2026.
